Valentine's Day is a time when we celebrate the love we have for one another. But for some, Valentine's Day is a time when they remember, despite all efforts, those who spurned that love. Who's to say they can't celebrate Valentine's Day as well?
In 2025, Brookfield Zoo Chicago will once again offer the chance to name a cockroach in honor of that un-special (or special) someone in your life. That's right, you can name a Madagascar hissing cockroach after your ex (or anyone!) for Valentine's Day with a $15 donation that supports the Zoo.
You'll receive a Certificate of Naming* in your donation receipt that you can fill out and share or hang on your wall as a reminder that a cockroach now bears the name(s) you chose. In addition, the first name of the individual(s) will appear on the Cockroach Naming Board posted outside of the Hamill Family Play Zoo. The board will be unveiled on February 14, and we'll be sure to post pics to social media so you can find your name(s) on the board.
To complete the form below, please select in the Designation section whether your cockroach is for someone special, or for someone not-so-special, and then type only the first name of the individual in the Note section. Only the first name will appear on the Cockroach Naming Board, but you can enter whatever personal message you like on the certificate that arrives with your donation receipt.
*For names to be included on Cockroach Naming Board, donation submissions must be completed by 5:00 p.m. CST, Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
