Adventures in Learning

The Chicago Zoological Society seeks to engage families and individuals in a wide variety of conservation learning opportunities, at Brookfield Zoo and in the community. Programs and classes are available for students of all ages to help increase their knowledge of the natural world and to promote conservation throughout the community.
 
  • Family Play Programs: Our courses offer focused learning and experiential activities such as games, crafts, and other activities, to approximately 3,500 individuals annually.
  • Conservation Matters: Talks with local experts and Brookfield Zoo staff help over 100 adults each year learn more about caring for animals and the environmentat the zoo and in the wild.
  • Zoo Camp: Week-long day camp experiences attract more than 2,000 children from preschool through middle school each summer. A five-day ZooLab is offered for children grades 6 to 8.
  • Zoo World Patch: A program for Scout groups and other youth groups that encourages appreciation for animals and raises awareness of the conservation efforts of a modern zoo
  • Backstage Adventures: Personalized and exclusive animal encounter programs highlighting the daily care and training of select animals at Brookfield Zoo
