Little ghosts and goblins of all ages are sure to have a howlin’ good time! Our not-so-scary and fun-filled event has something for the entire family to enjoy:

  • NEW this year: Dulcelandia Treat Station - while supplies last
  • Carve a pumpkin or decorate a spooky cookie on the East Mall*
  • Photo Op on North Mall*
  • Can you find your way out of the "Craized Maize" corn maze?
  • Cheer for the pumpkin or cheer on the "Pumpkin Smasher"
  • Take a spin on the "Creepy Cowboy Carousel" *
  • Watch professional pumpkin carver create 1,000 pound jack-o'-lanterns
  • Hop on the "Haunted Hayride" and go behind the scenes for a hauntingly good time *
  • At 1:00 p.m. the popular Costume Parade commences on the North Mall, goes around Roosevelt Fountain and concludes on the West Mall.
  • Participate in the Costume Showcase at 1:30 p.m. Prizes for best animal theme, scariest, most original and best group.
  • Build a scarecrow at the Hamill Family Play Zoo *
  • Great photo ops at several pumpkin patches
  • Watch animals enjoy their very own pumpkins
  • Try some homemade pumpkin soup or a cupcake prepared right before your eyes by the zoo's chef*

Several not-so-scary Zoo Chats will be scheduled throughout the day:
  • 11:30 a.m. Bat Zoo Chat in Australia
  • 12:00 p.m. Wolf Zoo Chat at Wolf Woods
  • 12:30 p.m. Spider Zoo Chat in the Swamp
  • 1:00 p.m. Owl Zoo Chat in front of Hamill Family Play Zoo (weather permitting)
  • 2:00 p.m. Scorpion Zoo Chat in Feathers and Scales
  • 2:30 p.m. Large Snake Zoo Chat in Feathers and Scales
  • 3:00 p.m. Raven Zoo Chats at Hamill Family Zoo*

Sunday, October 19
  • 10:00 a.m. -  Pumpkins to orangutans in Tropic World Asia
  • 10:30 a.m. - Carrots and willow harvest at Hamill Family Play Zoo*
  • 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Cartoon Network Adventure Time Takeover
  •  

  • 11:45 a.m. - Join the Harvest Parade from Hamill Family Play Zoo to Hoofed Animals to help keepers feed camels, Przewalski's horse, and zebras
  • 1:00 p.m. - Evergreen Park Community High School Cheerleaders leading Costume Parade – North Mall
  • 2:30 p.m. - Danceassociation, Downers Grove performing after Costume Showcase (time approximate)

Saturday, October 25
  • 11:00 a.m. - Pumpkins to bears at Great Bear Wilderness and at Big Cats
  • 12:50 p.m. - Danceassociation, Downers Grove performs before the Costume Parade - North Mall
  • 1:00 p.m. - Reavis High School Marching Band, Burbank and Bearettes & Twirling Bears, Midlothian and Oak Lawn leading Costume Parade – North Mall
  • 2:30 p.m. - DLD Dance Center, Downers Grove performing after Costume Showcase(time approximate)

Sunday, October 26
  • 11:00 a.m. - Pumpkins to lions at Big Cats
  • 12:50 p.m. - DanceEncounter, Geneva performs before the Costume Parade - North Mall
  • 1:00 p.m. - Hinsdale central High School Red Devil Marching Band and Steps Dance Center, Aurora leading Costume Parade – North Mall
  • 2:30 p.m. - Steps Dance Center, Aurora performing after Costume Showcase (time approximate)
